Sun Jiazheng, vice-chairman of the CPPCC presents gift to Ambassador Georgakelos 

In order to celebrate the 40th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Greece, the CPAFFC and Embassy of Greece jointly held a reception on June 7, in Beijing. Sun Jiazheng, vice-chairman of the CPPCC was present. Li Jianping, the vice-president of CPAFFC and Theodore Georgakelos, the Greek Ambassador to China addressed the reception.

Before the reception, vice-chairman Sun Jiazheng met with Ambassador Georgakelos, he said “For the 40 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the relation of China and Greece has developed smoothly with frequent high-level visits, steady mutual trust and good communication & coordination in dealing with international and regional affairs. The cooperation of both sides in economy, trading, culture, science, technology and education has been pragmatic and effective. Humane and local exchanges have been continuously expanding. The people to people contact has been rooted in the hearts of both peoples. Under the background of global financial crisis, China would further expand the new areas for economic cooperation between China and Greece, and support Greece firmly carrying out structure reform, reducing financial deficit, enhancing competitiveness. China with the international society, would help Greece to step out of recession as soon as possible.
