Wu Bangguo, Chairman of Standing Committee of NPC Meets with Montano, Speaker of Bolivian Senate

At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), Gabriela Montano Viana, the Speaker of the Senate of Bolivia visited China from Dec. 2nd to 4th.

Wu Bangguo positively evaluated the relations between China and Bolivia. He said, since the diplomatic relations between the two countries established 27 years ago, China-Bolivia relations had achieved further development under the efforts of both sides. The friendly contacts between the governments, parliaments, political parties and people were closer; the political mutual trust was deepened continuously; both sides understood and supported each other on issues deeply concerned; the cooperation in economy and trade was enlarged from simple trading cooperation to satellite fabrication, mineral resource exploration, and other circles; the exchanges in culture, education, science and technology was productive; both sides kept close communication and coordination in international affairs. China and Bolivia were good friends based on sincerity and mutual trust, and also partners on mutual benefit and cooperation. Deepening China-Bolivia relations was in line with the fundamental interests of the two peoples. China would like to work with Bolivia, to develop the China-Bolivia relation better and bring benefit to two peoples.

Montano said, Bolivia and China were far in distance, but Bolivia was always paying great attention to its friend China’s development and progress. At present, Bolivia was actively pushing forward reform of politics, economy and society, and focusing on developing economy and improving the people’s livelihood. Bolivia urgently hoped to utilize China’s experience especially the helpful methods on developing market economy, strengthen  macro-economic control and upholding social fair and justice. Bolivia would like to deepen the mutual beneficial cooperation with China in all circles, to make the relations between to two countries reach a new stage.

Wu Bangguo said, China constantly advocated that, the people’s right of choosing social system and road for development should be respected and protected. China understood and supported the Bolivian people’s efforts on actively exploring the road for development in accordance of the condition of their own country. The Chinese NPC would like to enhance the friendly contact with the Bolivian Parliament, and exchange experience with Bolivia in managing state and political affairs, constructing democracy and legal system. Both sides should have in-depth discussion on common concerned issues and increase new content and vitality for the relation of the two countries.
