On May 5th, CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin met with the delegation of Japan-China Friendship Parliamentarians’ Union headed by Mr. Takamura Masahiko, Vice President of Liberal Democratic Party. Mme. Wang Xiuyun, Director General of Department of Japanese Affairs of CPAFFC and Mr. Endo Kazuya, Minister of Japanese Embassy in China were present at the meeting.
President Li welcomed the delegation to visit China and gave positive comments on the efforts made by Japan-China Friendship Parliamentarians’ Union for improving and developing China-Japan relations. She said, China-Japan relationship is at the most critical period after the normalization of diplomatic ties between the two countries. It is not favorable for the both countries. The key of the current problem is to realize the fact of the Japanese militarism starting invasion against China and other neighboring Asian countries. Only through drawing lessons from history, the needs of the future can be geared. She wished Japan could grasp the overall situation with long-term stand and proceed from the fundamental interests of the Chinese and Japanese people, as well as solve the problems through dialogue and negotiation.
Mr. Takamura Masahiko thanked President Li for taking time from her tight schedule to meet the delegation and expressed his respect to the CPAFFC for its constant work on developing friendly cooperation between China and other countries of the world. He said, in such a difficult situation of China-Japan relation, the both countries should face the future, and strengthen the exchange and cooperation in economy, culture, youth and other fields, so as to enhance the two people’s mutual understanding and trust, eliminate misunderstanding and jointly create a bright future for the two countries.
The delegates from different Japanese political parties also gave their own opinions on China-Japan relation at the meeting.
