President Li Xiaolin Meets Eugenio Rojas, Speaker of Bolivian Senate

President Li Xiaolin met with H.E. Mr. Eugenio Rojas, the speaker of Bolivian Senate and his delegation in Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) on 25, Nov, 2014.

President Li Xiaolin introduced the history, work of CPAFFC and the status of China- Bolivia friendship cities. She warmly welcomed Speaker Rojas and his delegation for visiting China and attending the 2014 China International Friendship Cities Conference. She hoped that the relationship between China and Bolivia would develop further with the help of Speaker Rojas and other Bolivian friendly-to-China personages, especially in broadening the fields of cooperation and strengthening the exchanges in culture and tourism.

Speaker Rojas appreciated for CPAFFC’s reception. He expressed his great interest in strengthening the establishment of China-Bolivia friendship cities and promised to help to strengthen the friendly exchanges with China in various circles.

Bolivia located at the center of the South America. Since its establishment of the diplomatic relations with China, the political mutual trust between the both sides has been continuously deepened and the high-level is keeping close contact. In 2013, Evo Morales, the president of Bolivia, paid a state visit to China. The leaders of the both counties had an in-depth exchange of views and reached important consensus on further developing bilateral relations. In 2012, at the invitation of CPAFFC, Gabriela Montano Viana, the former speaker of Bolivian Senate visited China and met with Wu Bangguo, Chairman of Standing Committee of NPC. Speaker Rojas worked in public education system before, and was elected as the mayor of Achocalla city in 2005. As the candidate of the party of Movement for Socialism, he was elected as senator in 2010 and then as the speaker of senate in January, 2014.
