On October 21, President Li Xiaolin met with Mr. Russell M. Nelson, President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) and his delegation. President Li welcomed President Nelson to visit CPAFFC again. She introduced to the delegation the recent major projects conducted by CPAFFC with the aim of promoting China-U.S. subnational cooperation, with the most important one being the 3rd China-U.S. Governors Forum, which was held in Seattle back in September during President Xi’s state visit to the United States.
President Nelson felt glad to meet with President Li again. He admired the efforts made by President Li and CPAFFC in strengthening U.S.- China friendly cooperation. Nelson marveled at the tremendous change in China over the past 30 years since he first visited China in 1980. His state Utah attached great importance in developing its relationship with China, and had conducted frequent exchanges and cooperation in various fields. He hoped to expand future cooperation with CPAFFC so as to drive forward the China-U.S. friendly cooperation. The delegation also invited President Li to visit Brigham Young University-Hawaii and the Polynesian Center at her earliest convenience this year.
