Mme. Li Xiaolin, President of Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with Mr. YOKOI YUTAKA, Japanese Ambassador to China on July 11. Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of CPAFFC, Mr. ISHIKAWA HIROSH and Mr. YAMAMOTO YASUSHI, Ministers of Japanese Embassy in China, attended the meeting.
President Li said that this year marks the 45th anniversary of the normalization of Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations, next year will mark the 40th anniversary of Conclusion of Treaty of Peace and Friendship. China-Japan relations play an important role in the past and in the further. Chinese side is actively promoting construction of the Belt and Road. There are broad space and huge potential to cooperate in the fields of economy and trade for the two countries. It is hoped that Japan can meet China halfway. Both sides could strengthen the exchanges and cooperation in various fields, consolidate the basis of public opinion and push bilateral relations back to healthy and stable development track.
Ambassador YOKOI YUTAKA said that Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzō had a friendly discussion with Chinese President Xi Jinping during the G20 Hamburg Summit. Japanese side is willing to take the 45th anniversary of the normalization of Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations and the 40th anniversary of Conclusion of Treaty of Peace and Friendship as opportunities to push bilateral relations for improvement.
