President Li Xiaolin met with Neil Bush, the third son of former U.S. President George H.W. Bush, President of Points of Light Foundation, and Co-chairman of the Board of CIIC Group, on July 25. Bush introduced the World Health Center project, which is jointly initiated by CIIC Group and the U.S. Texas Medical Center. He also expressed the will to work with CPAFFC to co-host the Seventh Forum on China-U.S. Relations in Beijing in autumn 2018, with the topic of China-U.S. cooperation in safeguarding global food security. President Li spoke highly of the Bush family for their care and support for the development of China-U.S. relationship over the years. She said the World Health Center project will bring the advanced medical technology and managerial expertise of the United States to China, so as to improve the overall health of the Chinese people. She suggested that the two sides should work together to make steady progress for the project.
