At the invitation of National Governors Association(NGA), President Li Xiaolin visited the US and attended the NGA Winter Meeting in Washington DC from Feb. 22 to 28, 2013. Mme. Li met with Ms. Reta Lewis, US State Department Special Representative for Global Intergovernmental Affairs，and U.S governors, inviting them to attend the Second China-US Governors Forum to be held in China mid Apr, 2013. Mme. Li also met with Former US ambassador to China John Huntsman , and had discussion with representatives from Nixon Foundation and National Football League Players Association during her stay in Washington DC.
After that, Mme. Li traveled to Houston to pay a visit to former U.S. President George H. W. Bush and Mrs. Barbara Bush. Mme. Li also exchange ideas with representatives of Texas A&M University on the next "George Bush China-US Relations Conference".
