On November 9th, President Li Xiaolin met with Mr. Bob Hawke, Former Prime Minister of Australia.

Madam Li extended welcome to Mr. Hawke and briefed him upon the people-to-people exchange activities between CPAFFC with nearly 500 nongovernment organizations and institutions in 157 countries.

Mr. Hawke thanked Madam Li for her time and spoke highly of the great achievements that CPAFFC has contributed to enhancing people’s friendship. He hoped CPAFFC would achieve more fruitful results in deepening friendship and promoting mutual benefits between the two peoples. During the meeting, Mr. Hawke also expressed the wishes of Prince Alwaleed of Saudi Arabia to establish friendly cooperation with CPAFFC and invite Madam Li to visit Saudi Arabia at a proper time.

Madam Li thanked Prince Alwaleed for his invitation and expressed her hope to visit Saudi Arabia in the near future.

The two sides also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and other international hot issues.

Mr. Qing Boming, Secretary General of the China International Friendship Cities Association attended the meeting.
