The 2012 stars in Penglai international symposium, jointly sponsored by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Shandong Provincial People’s Government and the Swiss Stars Foundation, was held in Penglai, Shandong Province from June 9 to 12. About 140 young leaders from more than 20 countries, more than 20 well-known experts from China and foreign countries in commercial, scientific, political, cultural fields, and executives of large enterprises attended the symposium with the theme of “building bridges and creating harmony”. Through the discussion and exchange on current hot spot issues, the participants strengthened their learning from each others, deepened their friendship, shared the chance of development and jointly dealt with challenges.

This symposium in succession to Stars In Penglai 2011 International Symposium was the second time the CPAFFC cooperated with government of Shandong Province and Swiss Stars Foundation. Abdul’ahat Abdurixit, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Prof. Dr. Joseph Deiss, former President of Switzerland, President of the 65th Session of the United Nations General Assembly addressed the symposium respectively.
