President Li Xiaolin Meets with Fijian Ambassador to China
On February 25th, President Li Xiaolin met with H.E.Mr.Esala Teleni, Fijian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to China. President Li briefed Ambassador Teleni on the exchanges between Fiji-China Friendship Association and Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. She remarked that Fiji stands out as an important country in the South Pacific region, and CPAFFC would like to strengthen cooperation with Fiji in the fields of culture, friendship cities and friendship volunteers based on the principle of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit. President Li also introduced events in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the founding of CPAFFC, and invited Fijian friends to join in. Ambassador Teleni thanked President Li for meeting him and conveyed New Year’s greetings to her and CPAFFC from Jiko Luveni, Minister of Woman’s Affairs and President of Fiji-China Friendship Association. He noted that all circles of Fiji felt grateful to China for its general aid to Fiji in building infrastructure and fighting poverty. Ambassador Teleni said that he would focus on culture, education and youth exchanges during his mission in China and he appreciated the sustaining support from CPAFFC . Mr. Zhang Heqiang, Director General of the Department of American and Oceanian Affairs also attended the meeting.

President Li Xiaolin Meets with German Ambassador to China
On Feb. 25th , CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin met with H.E. Mr. Michael Clauss, the German Ambassador to China. President Li positively appraised the CPAFFC’s cooperation with the German political funds, Germany-China Friendship Association and the German Embassy in China. She made an introduction of the CPAFFC’s recent working plan on German affairs and the brief status of the cooperation among the Chinese friendship cities with their German counterparts. She expressed that, she would lead a youth football team from Zhidan County of Shaanxi Province to visit Germany and play a friendly match with the German players, which was sponsored by Volkswagen and would be a part of the CPAFFC’s Rainbow Bridge Programs. This event would make the children from the Chinese rural area learn more about Germany, and would bring the Chinese and German youth closer. Ambassador Clauss extended his gratitude to the CPAFFC’s support in the recent years. He said, football was a bridge of enhancing the understanding and friendship between the two peoples. The contacts and dialogues were very important. The latest survey showed that there was a big diversity of the German people’s cognition at China. Developing more people-to-people exchanges was an important method of eliminating divergence and furthering mutual understanding. The German Embassy in China would like to strengthen the cooperation with the CPAFFC and offer facilities for the Chinese and German nongovernmental exchanges. CPAFFC Vice President Li Jianping, Mr. Klaus Vietze, the political counselor of German Embassy were present at the meeting.

President Li Xiaolin Meets with Senegalese First Lady Marième SALL
  President Li Xiaolin met with Mme. Marième SALL, First Lady of Senegal at the CPAFFC on Feb. 20. Li warmly greeted the First Lady and her entourage and joyfully recalled the scenario that she met with President Sall during her visit to Senegal in 2012. She also introduced the CPAFFC and CFFPD to the guests,and emphasized that their core mission is to enhance the mutural understanding and friendship between Chinese and foreigners. She said that we were willing to promote the exchange with people from all walks of life in Senegal, and to undertake cooperation with “Serve Senegal”- a fund under the leadership of the First Lady. To show our support for the charity career of the fund, we will provide a donation of USD50,000 for improving the educational and medical conditions of the vulnerable layers in Senegal.   The First Lady sincerely thanked Li for the meeting, particularly for the donation. She appreciated the long-term dedication of the CPAFFC on the China-Senegal friendship. She said that “Serve Senegal” aimed at providing support to the poors of Senegal. She wished to get support from people from all walks of life home and abroad. This visit would enable them to learn and use the rich experience of China on charity for reference, and to establish the long-term and close cooperation with the CPAFFC. After the meeting, Li hosted a luncheon for the First Lady and her entourage. Vice President Feng Zuoku was present at the meeting and the luncheon.

President Li Xiaolin and Secretary-General Li Xikui Meet with President of Korean Community China
In the afternoon of February 19th, CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin and Secretary-General Li Xikui met with Mr. HWANG CHAN SIK, President of Korean Community China (KCC), Mr. KIM JIN GON, ROK Minister-Counselor to China, Mr. LEE PIL JOO, Vice President of KCC and other friends from ROK. President Li Xiaolin and Secretary-General exchanged views on strengthening cooperation with the ROK side, the both sides wished to work together to enhance the friendship between the two countries.   The China Service Center for Friendship and Cooperation with Foreign Countries (CSCFCFC) of CPAFFC has maintained cordial cooperation with KCC for dozens of years. KCC assisted CSCFCFC to hold the large-scale activity “Friendly Weiqi Match Commemorating 45th Anniversary of Weiqi Diplomacy of Chen Yi with Chinese and Foreign Celebrities” in 2005. In the future, CSCFCFC will strengthen the cooperation between China and ROK with KCC in fields of economy, culture, education and etc..

President Li Xiaolin Meets Secretary-General of Shanghai Cooperation Organization
President Li Xiaolin met with and held a banquet for Dmitry Mezentsev, Secretary-General of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on February 19. The both sides had a cordial talk on developing exchanges and cooperation with each other. Dmitry Mezentsev, the former vice chairman of Russia Federation Council and Governor of Irkutsk, took the post of Secretary-General of SCO on January 1, 2013. Vice President Li Jianping, and Director-General Song Jingwu of Department of European and Asian Affairs attended the meeting.

President Li Xiaolin Meets with Chairman of the Supervision Committee of Czech-China Chamber of Collaboration
On February 14th, President Li Xiaolin met with and held a banquet for Jaroslav Tvrdik, Chairman of the Supervision Committee of the Czech-China Chamber of Collaboration and Chinese Affairs Specialist of the Czech government. President Li described China’s new ideas and new measures on social and economic development after the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the work of the Chinese People''s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) for the guests. She hoped the two associations would develop the relationship between China and Czech to a new level through jointly holding the series  celebrating activities with the opportunity of the 65th anniversary of establishment of China-Czech diplomatic relations. Jaroslav Tvrdik expessed that strengthening the cooperation with China was on the table of the first Cabinet meeting after the new government has just established. This year is the 65th anniversary of the establishment of China-Czech diplomatic relations. It happened that the meeting of the leaders of China and Middle Eastern Europe will hold in Prague, the two countries will hold influential activities in fields of politics, economy, culture, hygiene and etc. Czech-China Chamber of Collaboration hoped to complete the celebrating activities successfully together with CPAFFC. Jaroslav Tvrdik invited President Li Xiaolin to visit Czech and attend Czech-China Investment Forum in year 2014. The both sides also had an in-depth discussion on the issues of series cooperation in this year. Vice President Li Jianping, and Director-General Song Jingwu of Department of European and Asian Affairs attended the meeting.

President Li Xiaolin Meets with Senior Vice President for Global Government Relations of United Technologies Company
On 13th February,President Li Xiaolin met with Mr. Gregg Ward, Senior Vice President for Global Government Relations of United Technologies Company in Beijing. President Li briefed Mr. Ward on CPAFFC’s recent exchanges and cooperation programs with other countries and expressed the willingness to work together with the U.S. business community to further promote the China-US friendship. Mr. Ward expressed thanks to President Li for meeting him and emphasized that the Chinese market is of strategic importance to the future development of UTC. They also exchanged views on collaborating to conduct projects of China-US friendly exchanges and public welfare.

President Li Xiaolin Meets with Teneo Strategy Managing Director Nancy Bowen
President Li Xiaoling met with and held a luncheon for Ms. Nancy Hernreich Bowen, Managing Directer, Teneo Strategy (Asia) on 10th February in Beijing. President Li briefed Ms. Bowen on the work of people-to-people diplomacy CPAFFC carried out with the United States over the past years, noting that the strengthening of people-to-people exchange between our two nations can play a critical role in helping build a new type of major country relationship between China and the USA. Ms. Bowen expressed thanks to President Li for taking time out of her busy schedule to meet with her, and she said that the closer economic and trade cooperation is conducive to the overall development of China-US relations, she was willing to provide necessary assistance. Vice President Xie Yuan attended the above-mentioned activities.

President Li Xiaolin Visits Israel
At the invitation of Mr. Efi Stenzler, Chairman of Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael- Jewish National Fund (KKL), a CPAFFC delegation headed by President Li Xiaolin visited Israel from January 14th to 17th .    CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin Introducing the status of China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development to President Peretz During the visit, on behalf of their organizations, President Li and Chairman Efi Stenzler signed the Memo of Cooperation which agrees on carrying out cooperation in fields of urbanization development, desert control, water saving irrigation, environmental protection and etc.President Li was also present at the opening ceremony of Agricultural Technology Expo of Israel on invitation, together with Mr. Shimon Peres, President of Israel, Minister Yair Shamir of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Minister Moshe Kahlon of Ministry of Welfare and Social Services. As the only special guest, President Li planted trees with Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, to celebrate Tu Bishvat (Tree Planting Day of Israel). President Li Xiaolin Meets with Nepalese Ambassador to China
On the afternoon of January, 8th, 2014, CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin met with H.E. Mr. Mahesh Kumar Maskey, the ambassador of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal to China. President Li Xiaolin welcomed Ambassador Maskey to visit the CPAFFC, and briefed him about the major works on people-to-people contact, establishment of friendship cities, Sino-foreign cultural exchanges that has done by the CPAFFC since its establishment 60 years ago, as well as series programs of 2014 China-Nepal Cities Culture Dialogue being held in Nepal by the time. Ambassador Maskey thanked President Li Xiaolin for finding time for the meeting in her tight schedule. He said, Nepal always cherished the friendly relation with China, especially the cooperation and contact with the CPAFFC. He deemed cultural exchanges greatly significant to people-to-people friendship and development of bilateral relation. He also expressed that, long before he took his post in China, he had heard about the important role as a platform the CPAFFC played in people-to-people contact between China and Nepal, and finally his wish of visiting the CPAFFC was granted on this day. Ambassador Maskey told President Li Xiaolin that, there was a debate on how to choose the social developing mode in Nepal. Since the development of China had achieved great result in recent years, he suggested the both sides to hold seminars and exchanges to enhance the mutual understanding and further promote the relation between China and Nepal. Besides, Ambassador Maskey also invited President Li Xiaolin to attend the Nepal Cultural Festival which will be held in Beijing this year. President Li Xiaolin said, Nepal and China are friendly neighboring countries, China’s development has brought opportunities of development to the neighboring countries including Nepal. The both sides could explore and hold academic discussions and cultural exchanges with the theme of mutual trust, cooperation and all win. The both sides were willing to consolidate and develop the cooperation in culture, especially the contact and cooperation of high-level scholars, based on the Memo on cooperation signed by the CPAFFC and Nepal World Culture Net, so as to jointly promote the all-around partnership passed on from generation to generation of the two countries.
