President Li Xiaolin Attends Luncheon by ROK Ambassador
On August 22nd 2013, H.E. Mr. Kwon Young-se, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to China hosted a luncheon for CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin and Mr. Wang Jianzhou, President of China-Korea Friendship Association.
President Li briefed Ambassador Kwon about her visit to ROK last month, especially the meeting with ROK President Park Geun-hye. President Li said that the deepest impression left on the Chinese delegation was the emphasis given and active endeavors made by the Korean people, from top political leaders to grass-root masses, on developing the China-Korea friendship relations in a healthy way. The CPAFFC would join in the efforts with the Korean side to make constant achievements of cultural, economic, trade, and youth exchanges. President Li also expressed gratitude to Ambassador Kwon for his support and assistance in her visit to Korea.
Mr. Wang Jianzho said that the China-Korea Friendship Association would contribute more to the development of economic and trade relations between China and Korea as the two economies complemented each other.
Ambassador Kwon Young-se congratulated President Li for her visit to Korea and assured her of full support by the Korean Embassy in Beijing to coordinate with the CPAFFC and further enhance mutual cooperation, especially in youth exchanges, for carrying forward the Korea-China friendship generation after generation.
President Li Xiaolin Meets with President of Vietnam-China Friendship Association
On 22nd August 2013, President Li met with President of Vietnam-China Friendship Association Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang and his delegation.
President Li expressed welcome to Mr. Nguyen and said that we would never forget the “comrades and brothers” relations founded by the past generations of China and Vietnam. No matte how the world situation changed, the China-Vietnam friendship should stand all tests and become even stronger. The main tasks of the CPAFFC were to consolidate friendship between Chinese people and people in other countries, to safeguard world peace and to promote international cooperation and harmony. The series activities hosted by the CPAFFC and the Vietnam-China Friendship Association, like people’s gala, people’s forum, Bring-light tour and so on, should be strengthened. There was a Chinese saying that “a near neighbor is better than a distant relative”. China and Vietnam were neighboring countries connected by mountains and waters. The two sides surely could further mutual trust, deepen cooperation, attain common prosperity and achieve win-win development.
Mr. Nguyen said that during the visit to China in June 2013 by Vietnam President Truong Tan Sang, the two sides issued a joint declaration emphasizing political mutual trust and pragmatic cooperation. The Vietnam-China Friendship Association would join in the efforts with the CPAFFC to implement the agreements of the state leaders and promote mutual understanding between the two peoples by holding various activities.
Mr. Nguyen invited President Li for a visit to Vietnam and President Li accepted with gratitude.
President Li Xiaolin Meets with New Mexico Ambassador to China
Li Xiaolin, the president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries(CPAFFC) met with H.E. Mr.Julian Ventura Valero, the new Mexico ambassador to China and his delegation on August,16, 2013.
President Li Xiaolin welcomed Ambassador Ventura to China to take his new post, and introduced the history of the CPAFFC and the people-to-people diplomatic work between China and Mexico. She said, after President Xi Jinping visited Mexico, the relationship between the two countries came into a new degree in history. As strategic partners, the both sides were expected to further strengthen the communication and cooperation in fields of culture, tourism, art, besides high-level governmental exchange, in order to create more chances for the mutual understanding of the two peoples. At present, the two countries have established 22 pairs of friendship cities; this number were ranked second place in Latin American countries, and still had potential of increase. She also hoped that the two countries would continue promoting the establishment of friendship cities or states/provinces and striven to develop the exchanges and cooperation of local governments to a new highlight of China-Mexico relation.
Ambassador Ventura thanked the CPAFFC for its contribution and efforts to the friendship between Mexico and China. He recalled the exchange visits of the Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto and the Chinese President Xi Jinping and expressed his joy for the prosperously developing Mexico-China relationship. He agreed with President Li’s opinion on deepening the development of Mexico-China friendship, and hoped to keep close contact with the CPAFFC to promote pragmatic cooperations on friendship cities, personnel exchanges, culture and tourism, etc., as well as to consolidate the tradition of friendly cooperation, continually enhance the peoples’ mutual understanding and recognition and broaden the friendship platform for the two peoples.

President Li Xiaolin Meets with Chairwoman of Canadian Fund for International Understanding through Culture
On April 15, Mme. Li Xiaolin, the president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with Dr. Nelly Ng. Chair, the Chairwoman of Canadian Fund for International Understanding through Culture (CFIUC).
President Li Xiaolin extended her welcome to Dr. Nelly Ng. Chair. She appreciated CFIUC’s donation to the elementary schools in remote and poverty-stricken regions, and highly praised CFIUC’s contribution to deepening China-Canada Friendship.
Dr. Nelly Ng. Chair briefed the state of the book donation to elementary schools in Guizhou and Inner Mongolia during this visit in China. She hoped to keep close cooperation with the CPAFFC. She also invited President Li Xiaolin to lead a delegation of the Chinese local governments to visit Canada at a convenient time. President Li Xiaolin expressed that the CPAFFC would strengthen the cooperation with CFIUC in affairs of friendship cities.
The both sides also reached initial intention of exchanges in other fields in the future.
President Li Xiaolin Hosts Welcome Dinner for New Russian Ambassador to China
Li Xiaolin, the president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) hosted a welcome dinner for Andrey Denisov, the New Russian Ambassador to China on August,14,2013 in CPAFFC.
President Li welcomed Ambassador Andrey Denisov to China to take his new post, and introduced the work of the CPAFFC and the situation of the exchanges with Russia to him. She also hoped to keep close cooperation with the Russian Embassy to China, so as to further enhance mutual understanding and traditional friendship between the two peoples.
The Ambassador Andrey Denisov thanked President Li for her warm welcome, and expressed that the Russian Embassy to China would actively assist CPAFFC to implement work and strengthen people-to-people friendly exchanges in various fields between the two countries.
The both sides exchanged ideas on the issues of developing cooperation of local governments between the two countries and the joint sponsorship of China-Russia Governors Dialogue.

ROK President Park Geun-hye Meets with President Li Xiaolin
ROK President Park Geun-hye met with CPAFFC delegation headed by President Li Xiaolin and Mr. Wang Jianzhou, President of China-Korea Friendship Association, on 23 July 2013 at Cheong Wa Dae (Office of the ROK President). Chinese Ambassador Zhang Xinsen attended the meeting.
President Park Geun-hye expressed welcome to Madame Li with delegation and recalled with joy her recent visit to China in June 2013. President Park emphasized that one of the most important contents in the China-Korea Joint Deceleration was to deepen people-to-people and cultural ties. She believed that the CPAFFC, as the biggest and most popular people-to-people friendship association in China, could play a crucial role to this end.
Madame Li Xiaolin briefed President Park on the work of the CPAFFC and the China-Korea Association. She totally agreed to President Park’s words that “the Korean dream and the Chinese dream are connected”, which was in President Park’s speech at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Madame Li defined her visit to Korea this time as a trip to support dreams. She hoped for further cooperation with Korean side so as to provide assistance as much as possible to young people in China and Korea for realizing their dreams.
President Li Xiaolin paid a visit to Korea from 22-25 July 2013 at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Yun Byung-se, Minister of Foreign Affairs of ROK. During the visit, Madame Li met with Mr. Yun Byung-se and held discussions with Korea-China Friendship Association and Governors Association of Korea. She also made a speech on the theme of the Chinese dream at the Yonsei University and reached consensus with Samsung Group on establishing funds for activities of public interests.
President Li Xiaolin Meets with Ambassador of UCLG ASPAC and Editor-in-Chief of City Today
On July 19th, President Li Xiaolin met with Peter Woods, Ambassador of UCLG ASPAC and Richard Foster, Editor-in-Chief of City Today. The guestes introduced City Infrastructure Forum co-hosted by UCLG, City Today and CPAFFC in Chongqing from September 9th to 10th and invited President Li to attend the opening ceremony of the Forum. Peter Woods further elaborated on the work of UCLG in 2014. President Li accepted the invitation to the Forum and showed her support for the work of UCLG. She also invited Peter Woods to join the 60th anniversary celebration of CPAFFC.
President Li Xiaolin Meets with Governor of Kansas
On July 16th, 2013,Mme. Li Xiaolin, President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with the U.S. Kansas State Governor Sam Brownback. They exchanged views on China’s development, China-US relations, sub-national cooperation between the two countries. Governor Brownback is visiting China at the invitation of the CPAFFC in an effort to strengthen collaboration with China in fields of agriculture, food safety, bioscience and education.
President Li Xiaolin Meets German Guests
On July 5th, CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin met with Mr. Egbert Tlle , the Member of the board of Remomdis AG & Co. KG and Mr. Uwe Wiegand,the managing director of Remondis Hong Kong. Han Guangming, the deputy secretary general of the CPAFFC was present at the meeting.
President Li Xiaolin introduced the basic situation of the CPAFFC to the German guests. Mr. Tlle and Wiegand showed great interest to Rainbow Bridge Program that President Li Xiaolin introduced. They expressed that they would like to strengthen the cooperation with China in fields of China’s urbanization, drainage service, wastes treatment, and etc..
