On June 5th 2013, President Li Xiaolin met with H.E. Kwon Young-se, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to China in CPAFFC. President Li congratulated him on his new appointment. She said that during the successful visit to China by President Park Geun-hye last week, the leaders of China and ROK held fruitful discussions and reached important consensus on expanding people-to-people and cultural exchanges. The CPAFFC would further strengthen the friendly cooperation with friendship organizations in ROK and make positive contributions to implement the consensus reached by the two leaders and to consolidate and develop friendship between our two countries. H.E. Kwon Young-se thanked President Li for meeting with him and said that one of the consensus reached by President Park Geun-hye and President Xi Jinping during her state visit to China was to expand people-to-people and culture exchanges. The CPAFFC, as China''''s oldest non-governmental friendship organization, was an important channel and platform to promote such exchanges. He highly praised CPAFFC’s practical endeavors and positive role in promoting Korea-China friendship. Mr.Feng Zuoku, Vice President of CPAFFC attended the meeting.

In the afternoon of July 3rd, the CPAFFC president Mme. Li Xiaolin met with Mr. Oleg Sienko, the president of the Russian UralVagonZavod scientific industrial corporation (UVZ) and his group. Li Jianping, the vice president of the CPAFFC were present at the meeting. President Li Xiaolin extended her welcome to President Sienko. She made a brief introduction on basic facts of the CPAFFC and the achievements the CPAFFC had made in recent years in furthering cooperation of local governments and promoting the works of friendship cities. She expressed that the CPAFFC would like to work with the circle of Russian industries to promote the exchange and cooperation between the Chinese and Russian local governments. President Li Xiaolin pointed out, the success of the Dialog for the Chinese and Russian Governors needed not only the meticulous preparation of the both sides, and the detailed timeline, but also the support and assistance from the governments, foreign ministries and embassies of the two countries. She wished a pragmatic dialog be held in the later half of the year with the joint efforts of the both sides. President Sienko thanked President Li Xiaolin for taking time for the meeting in her tight schedule and made an explanation on the delay of the Dialog for the Chinese and Russian Governors. He said, the leaders of the two countries paid great attention on the cooperation between the Chinese and Russian local governments. The local governments were also interested in pragmatic cooperation in detailed fields. The two countries still kept broad vision of cooperation under the framework of BRIC and other systems. UVZ and himself would like to keep close communication with the CPAFFC and carry out the corresponding works of planning and preparation, to ensure the success of the dialog. He kindly invited President Li Xiaolin to visit Russia in September, to attend the large-scale international themed exhibition held buy UVZ in Nizhny Tagil ，Sverdlovsk Oblast.

  On June 21st, President Li Xiaolin hosted a welcome dinner for Lord Tu’ivakano, Prime Minster of Tonga, Lady Robyn Kaho and the delegation at the Peace Palace.  First, President Li Xiaolin extend the warmest welcome to Lord Tu’ivakano''''s visit to CPAFFC. In her speech, she emphasized that, though standing faraway, Tonga and China are bonded with immense affection, sharing similar cultural traditions and values. Afterwards, she reviewed the development of the people-to-people friendship between Tonga and China. Especially, she thanked Her Royal Highness Pilolevu for her active participation in the Friendship Forum and China International Friendship Cities Conference. Finally, Madam Li hoped that the two countries could strengthen communication and cooperation with each other in all fields under the principle of mutual respect and mutual benefit. On behalf of the Taufa''''ahau Tupou VI and Tongan people,Tu’ivakano extended sincere thanks to CPAFFC for its great commitments in promoting friendly exchanges between the two countries throughout the years. In the meanwhileHe conveyed Her Royal Highness Pilolevu Tuita''''s best regards for CPAFFC and Chinese people. Lord Tu''''ivakano hoped that Tonga China Friendly Association could work closely with the government, attracting more Chinese enterprises to invest in Tonga. Moreover, he was looking forward to witness the establishment of Sister City''''s relationship between the City of Wudalianchi and Nukunuku, setting example for more cities to follow through practical cooperation. Finally, Lord Tu''''ivakano thanked Madam Li and CPAFFC again, hoping that the two sides can work together to facilitate the development of people-to-people friendship between Tonga and China.  

    2013 Fortune Global Forum was held successfully in Chengdu from June 6 to 8. The CPAFFC president Li Xiaolin attended the opening ceremony and welcome banquet. She also delivered a keynote speech on the women’s status and effect in the new world at the sub-forum of Women of Emerging Countries on the morning of 7th, which produced warm reaction from the representatives.  

On May 31, Mme.Li Xiaolin, the president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries met with Mme. Christine Lieberknecht, Minister-president of Free State of Thuringia and Chairwoman of the German Conference of Minister-Presidents. President Li Xiaolin briefed the guests on the overall situation of International friendship cities in China and expressed the appreciation to the efficient exchange between the State of Thuringia and the Province of Shaanxi after twinning. At guests’ request, President Li Xiaolin introduced the nature and tasks of CPAFFC and the mode of people-to-people diplomacy in China.  Finally she suggested the Germany side on considering the possibility of holding a summit meeting of Chinese and German governors. Minister-president Lieberknecht said, this was her first visit to China. She led a big delegation of over 80 members and that show the great interests of Germany on the cooperation with China. She hoped, with the help of CPAFFC, Thuringia could deepen cooperation with China in the future. The deputy Head of Mission of the Germany Embassy Mr. Dr. Norbert Riedel attended the meeting.

On May 27, Mme. Li Xiaolin, the president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries met with Mr. Peter Robinson and Mr. Martin McGuinness, First Minister and Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland, UK. President Li Xiaolin said problems as environment pollution,energy shortage and food safety occurred in the process of China’s rapid economical development, and this is inevitable in the process of development.To meet these challenges, China and other countries need to learn from each other for common prosperity.We welcome friends from all around the world come here to have a picture of the real China and face the challenges hand in hand together. Vice president Li Jianping also attended the meeting, he introduced the 4th Sino-European Agricultural Seminar which is going to be held by our association in Ningxia Autonomous Region this September and invited agriculture minister of Northern Ireland to attend the seminar. Mr. Robinson and Mr. McGuinness appreciated the warm invitation and considerate arrangement for their visit. They made a general introduction on Northern Ireland local government and indicated that Northern Ireland’s economy is recovering from the lowered growth as an influence of European debt crisis. Northern Ireland is willing to have a new partnership with China, to promote mutual trade and cooperation in various fields. And they will promote Northern Ireland’s attendance at the coming agricultural seminar. After meeting, vice president Li Jianping held a banquet for the delegation. Mr Li Ruiyou, Chinese Consulate General in Edinburg, also attended the meeting and banquet.

On May 28th, Mme. Li Xiaolin, the president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries(CPAFFC), met with Mr. Antonio Villaraigosa, the mayor of Los Angeles, who is visiting China at the invitation of the CPAFFC. The two sides exchanged views on China’s contact to Los Angeles, exchange and cooperation between the Chinese and American local governments. During the visit, President Xi Jinping met with Mayor  Villaraigosa and his group. Wang Anshun, the Mayor of Beijing, Xia Xinghua, the vice president of Civil Aviation Administration of China also held meetings with Villaraigosa respectively.

On May 27, Mme. Li Xiaolin, the president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries met with Mr. Evarist Bartolo, Minister for Education and Employment of Malta. President Li Xiaolin listened up to the proposal from the minister on China-Europe Friendship Conference. The theme of the conference is Sustainable Blue Economy and is expected to be held in Malta in 2014. Organized by CPAFFC and Malta, the conference will invite people engaged in marine industry and related fields from China and Europe to discuss the topics of environment protection and marine industry, marine law and fight against pirates. President Li Xiaolin supported the idea and wish to follow up the details of the proposal in the future. Vice President Li Jianping attended the meeting as well.  

On May 17th, President Li Xiaolin hosted a welcome dinner for H.R.H Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Brunei Darussalam. Vice President Feng Zuoku, Former Ambassador to Brunei and Vice President of China-Brunei Friendship Association(CBFA) Liu Xinsheng and his spouse, H.E. Ms. Magdalene Teo, Ambassador of Brunei to China were present. President Li said that Princess Masna was the old friend of Chinese People and deserved the title of "People’s Friendship Ambassador"conferred by CPAFFC. Princess’s many visits to China showed the great importance attached to the Brunei-China friendship. Madame Li expressed that China and Brunei were friendly neighbours, the bilateral relations had developed smoothly since 1991 with deepening exchanges and cooperation in the field of politics, economic and trade, culture and so on. The CBFA and Brunei-China Friendship Association(BCFA) had made positive efforts in this regard. President Li also briefed Princess on CPAFFC and its work. Princess Masna thanked President Li for hosting the dinner. She sang a high praise of the development of Brunei-China relations and indicated that Brunei-China Strategic Cooperation Relationship established earlier this year meant a new stage of the bilateral relations. Princess hoped the BCFA and CBFA would make continuous contribution to the friendship and cooperation between two countries. During the dinner, Chinese artists and young actors and actresses from Tianjin Cathay Future Children’s Art Troupe made performances with Chinese ethnic characteristics.

On April 28th, Mme. Li Xiaolin, the president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries met with Mr. Nicolae Vasilescu, the chairman of Romanian-Chinese House and the executive secretary of the Romanian Social Democratic Party. President Li Xiaolin made a brief introduction on the CPAFFC. She said, the CPAFFC would enhance understanding and friendship of the people around the world just as always. The CPAFFC attached great importance to city diplomacy and soft power diplomacy. In order to make the world know China and support China’s development, the CPAFFC actively took part in international conferences. The situations varied from country to country, thus the people-to-people contact was particularly important. Romanian-Chinese House had made great contribution to the contact and friendship between the Chinese and Romanian people, and would be expected to innovate upon the forms of exchange in the new era. Mr. Vasilescu introduced the form and working emphasis of Romanian-Chinese House. He appreciated the CPAFFC for its support and assistance to the events held by Romanian-Chinese House. He praised the CPAFFC for its distinguished contribution on people-to-people diplomacy and international exchanges. Romanian-Chinese House was planning to held the Conference of All European Friendly-to-China Organizations in this November in Romania. The CPAFFC was expected to attend and support the conference. President Li Xiaolin expressed that the CPAFFC would dispatch a delegation to attend the conference.
